Privacy Notice

Word Pop Ltd, trading as Word Pop (wordpop.co.uk), is the data controller for personal data collected through Word Pop. That means we decide how and why your data is used and are responsible for it.

What we collect and why

• Parent account details (email address, password stored securely) — to create and secure your account. Basis: contract.
• Child profiles (first name or nickname you choose, stars, points, rewards, certificates) — to save progress and create certificates. Basis: contract.
• Subscription status — to know whether you have access. Basis: contract.
• Support messages — to answer your questions. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser type, error logs) — to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and fix problems. Basis: legitimate interests.

We don't ask for children's surnames, photos or contact details, and we don't use children's data for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that host the app, store data, and generate the voice and AI word lists on our behalf.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling the subscription, managing it, taking payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
• Authorities where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep account and child data while your account is active. When you close your account, or it's no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it, unless we must keep certain records by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, object to our use of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email wordpop.co.uk@gmail.com — we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and private, account-scoped storage so only you can see your children's profiles.

Cookies

We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in, remember which child is playing and hold unsaved stars. We don't use analytics or marketing cookies.
